Narration: The first crisis came into the Wooster household the very next day. (Our young visitor had nothing to do with this one.)

Bertie: Quickly, Jeeves! Pack the bags and set the motor running!

Jeeves: Is something the matter, sir?

Walter: Are they coming?

Bertie: Something jolly well is! I almost got engaged!

Walter: Is that all?

Bertie: I say! Once you’ve been engaged two or three times, you’ll know it’s nothing to cough at! And what do you mean, “they”?

Walter: Er…nothing.

My, oh my. I wonder what Bertie did to ask Jeeves to start the car and beat it out of town.

(and BTW, I think little Walter might know something)

He’s afraid of commitment? He prefers to be able to romance several fine ladies instead of one? He sees marriage and having children as a sign of growing old and still thinks of himself as young? He’s too selfish or self-centered to actually love somebody and rather simply lusts after them? He’s too immature right now for a serious relationship? At least one lady who has tried to bag him thus far was more than a bit freaky which has frightened him away from the prospect of marriage?

I’m going with the last one, but I’m throwing in among the guesses, ‘he’s gay?’

I have a question. Did Yomiko deliberately send Integra that story, knowing Walter was in in, or was that just a coincidence?
