In Dracula, vampires don’t have reflections in mirrors; a few keen-eyed people caught Seras reflecting on the 17th’s strip as well. But, as a couple of readers have pointed out, older mirrors are made with silver backing. Vampires also don’t show up in photographs – which use silver in the processing. Today, all but the best mirrors are made with vampire-safe metals; apparently French love hotels don’t employ the best. And Seras’ reflection on the 17th was in a window.
So there you have the reason why Seras keeps reflecting. Really.
The next evening:
Pip: You don’t actually need to wash up, do you? I mean, vampires don’t sweat, right?
Seras: No, but we can get dirty. Besides, I just like to feel clean, you know?
Pip: Mignonette? I’m French.
Seras: Oh, right. Then I guess you don’t.
