Erin’s Adventures in England: Part IV

Erin’s Adventures in England: Part IV published on 1 Comment on Erin’s Adventures in England: Part IV

On a table in the sanctuary of the Parish Church of St. Andrews was a pile of copies of this small local newspaper. Check out a byline…

“SHINE is…”

Bask in that for a moment.

I gotta be honest: it had nothing at all to do with the comic. Here’s the full article. “Shine” just happens to be the name of a local group of young Christian singers. It’s one of those wild coincidences.

That, or a subtle sign of divine approval. Take your pick.

Oh, but if you like wild coincidences, you’re going to love what we found in London. (I do hope it isn’t divine approval in this case…)

Next Week: Millennium Time

Millenium Time eh? Reminds me of an amusing sentence in a Wiki article I found…

Words as long as this are nowhere near common in German. When the law was proposed in the local parliament, the members reacted with laughter and the responsible minister Till Backhaus apologized for the “possibly excessive length.” In 1999, the German Language Society nominated Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz for its Word of the Year award, but it lost to Millennium.
