Drosselmeyer (Princess Tutu; the fact that he was named after the Nutcracker character is just a bonus tie-in), writer of stories, and Helios (Sailor Moon), guardian of dreams, are from essentially the same realm. Sandman readers will know that the Lord of Dreams, Morpheus, also has the title Prince of Stories. They will also know that he has no set form, though he’s easy to recognize because of those wonky dialog balloons of his. This particular form is that of the Dream King who shows up in Little Nemo in Slumberland. See, it all comes together!

Drosselmeyer: That’s how it ended? No misery? No sadness? What fun is that?

Morpheus: Drosselmeyer.

Drosselmeyer: Eep.
