And now they see the disadvantages of experimental weaponry. A crap load of guns these days, and in those days, could be fired underwater, a little sprinkler wouldn’t mess with ’em.

Lesson learned? Stick with what works, it worked for a reason.

So their saving grace is Pip can’t get the bullets to work.

And we got a cute Rip/Dandy scene.

Awesome.

*read comic* Pip cant fire because his ammo is too damp?
What kind of gun is he trying to shoot then?

I’ve never heard of ammo being too damp to fire. the primer at the back of the shell casing is a rush charge, it will still go off when crush, no matter if it is or isn’t wet.

you can hold any weapon in the rain for a while without a problem. the only time you can expect problems is when you completely submerge a weapon in water.

an example:

The MP5a1, there are two versions of it. a regular and a Navy version. the Difference: the Navy version is slightly modified to let water drain from the firing mechanism while it comes out of the water. it is also made with stronger alloys at the back to cope with the added pressure of water.

If you submerge a regular MP5A1 in water and then take it out to fire it, the back of the weapon will literally explode after 3 to 5 rounds. same thing can happen with a pistol easily unless it is meant to be used in and out of water like the US SOCOM pistol. (Heckler & Koch MK.23)

The reason that a weapon wont fire while fully submerged is because of the fact that water is fifty times denser then air. In short there is not enough power to ignite the crush charge at the back of the round which sets off the powder inside the round.

šŸ˜® Wow, Tommygunner… The only answer I can come up with is:

– It’s Shine.

– It’s a deus ex machina.
