Computer Breakdown MSPaint Theatre published on 3 Comments on Computer Breakdown MSPaint Theatre

Note from The Future: I consolidated the full week’s worth of MSPaint filler into one post. You’re welcome.

Skip the guest strips for the continuation of the storyline.

Pip: What the…?

We look completely ridiculous! We’re just scribbles! You can barely tell who I am! (Pip, by the way.) Is Erin being lazy again?

Seras: No…

…her hard drive just crashed. Completely. Most of the data is backed up, but not this week’s comics. And she can’t re-scan and recreate them, because the computer won’t even boot.

Pip: Oh…

That must suck. No offense.

Seras: None taken.

Pip: So Erin doesn’t have a computer at all right now?

Seras: Nope. This is done on a library computer. WIth a mouse. In…*shudder*…MSPaint.

[DUN DUN DUNNNN.]

Pip: Is that going to happen every time we say “MSPaint”?

[DUN DUN DUNNNN.]

Seras: Yyyyep.

Pip: How long are we going to be stuck in the world of MS…

[DUN DUN]

…Paint?

[DUNNNN.]

Seras: Dunno. Until she gets a new laptop and reinstalls her art programs, I guess.

Pip: Well, I hope it’s soon.

I want my arms back!

Seras: Me too!

Pip: And my legs!

Seras: Me too!

Pip: And your boobs!

Seras: Me t–hey!

Pip: You know, readers, if you’re feeling sympathetic to Erin’s terrible plight, and you want to reach out to her in a show of solidarity, just click the “Donate” button to your left…

Seras: HEY! That’s shameless emotional manipulation for the sake of a few bucks!

Pip: I’m a mercenary! What do you want from me?

Pip: Can we at least guilt the readers into sending guest strips?

Seras: You mean like when other people do comics about these characters and send them to sailorptah@yahoo.com?

Pip: Yeah, that!

Seras: I don’t see why not.

Pip: Would there be any requirements or standards for these comics?

Seras: Nope. I think it’s pretty clear that Erin will run pretty much anything right now.

Pip: And what about the storyline/ When will it pick up again?

Seras: As soon as Erin has her art programs back. Can you imagine trying to draw a regular strip in this style? It would be terrible!

Pip: Hey, you’re right!

Seras: And action scenes! You’d have no idea what was going on!

Pip: No kidding!

Seras: Why, in this style I bert you wouldn’t even be able to tell whether Heinkel is a man or a woman!

Pip: Yeah! …wait.

It really does suck when a hard drive crashes.

Hope things go improve for you Erin.

Pip: That must suck, No offence.
Seras: none taken.

What the hell?
To my mind, there is a heavy double meaning in there….

a perverted one, but it is still a double meaning…

*Gets sniped by seras*

To bad you’re all the way in america Erin, with me stuck in Holland.
because (and i dont mean to brag) I can have that PC of yours up and running with in the day.

anyway, i hope you get it fixed soon 😉

LOL

Poor Erin! It hasn’t ben that great of a time for you for a while. With Mono and eveil hardrives and such…….I MUST BAKE YOU COOKIES!!!!! It’s what I do why people have things going on, I bake

SailorPtah on Mon Feb 25, 2008 2:01 pm

Thanks for the sympathy, all. Some of my files have been recovered; some are just lost; a new computer is on the way. Watch erinptah.wordpress.com for details and any breaking news.

Reaver225 on Mon Feb 25, 2008 2:59 pm

Hard drive crashes are truly a bane of computing. Though I must say, one of my favorite comics is done soley in MS Paint…

BigKwell on Mon Feb 25, 2008 3:31 pm

Hope some those files recovered are the strips that were supposed to be shown this week. Granted, the back-ups aren’t up to your usual quality – but then again, what can you expect from a library computer? Hope you get back online.

Atticusblackwolf on Mon Feb 25, 2008 3:36 pm

Library computers ARE horrible!!!

Athos on Mon Feb 25, 2008 8:18 pm

She’s lucky it has a mouse. I’ve been forced to use trackballs at the library back home. That…was not fun. Even worse was how very ‘sticky’ the balls were, so it was only possible to make very large movements.

BigKwell on Mon Feb 25, 2008 9:13 pm

(reads latest strip)

Hope it’s soon. I just hope her old programs run on Vista.

Xuanwu on Mon Feb 25, 2008 10:17 pm

Universities I’ve been at usually have a few nice computer labs with art programs. Erin should see if she can get access to one of those while we wait for the new computer to arrive.

Mrrout on Tue Feb 26, 2008 5:18 am

i like the new comics!
of course, the quality of the drawing is important, but the fun is mostly in the story 😉

Shadowfax272 on Wed Feb 27, 2008 2:57 am

I actually quite like the Paint comics, they have a nice style to them.

To be fair though, I used to make my comics solely in MSPaint…

Mrrout on Thu Feb 28, 2008 4:19 am

so strange:i’m reading 2 comics on line, and this week the 2 writers had a computer problem, with a momentary stop of the stories.
it might be a international gouvernmental complot 😆
or maybe bad luck!!

Tommygunner70 on Thu Feb 28, 2008 5:00 pm

Hmmm… i might have something worth up my sleve as a guest comic…

*looks at erin with photoshop tools in hand*

Requesting permission to butcher up some allready created comics. (i can’t draw for shit, but i sure as hell am good with editing left and right.)

Elin-darling on Thu Feb 28, 2008 5:59 pm

Oh my. It really has been awhile since I’ve been around here. Anyone remember me?

The layout is so….wow. Different.

Anyhow. Might do a guest strip..

Reeku on Thu Feb 28, 2008 8:21 pm

Ohooh~ I started drawing up a guest strip as soon as you asked! :3

Chaos Priest on Thu Feb 28, 2008 10:28 pm

Remember you? Elin-darling, how could I ever forget you? If only you knew the loneliness. The months since you left have been cold and dark, yet now the morning sun shines once more. Elin-darling, promise me you shall never again depart. Come and… come and, uh… what was that next part again?

*checks script*

Um… on second thought, maybe we can just settle on a friendly “Welcome back” and a handshake. Man, who wrote this tripe? :ick:

(Yeah, sorry ’bout that, but I couldn’t resist the urge to make a joke off of a screen name that includes the word “darling”)

Anyway, I’m sorry to say it but I will be unable to provide a guest comic as my house is about to undergo remodeling so I’m taking off for the next couple of weeks. Granted, all I’d be able to provide is a cut-and-paste job done in Paint anyway, but considering what the current comics are I suppose that’s not entirely unheard of.

Tommygunner70 on Fri Feb 29, 2008 5:40 am

@ Chaos Priest: Why not keep it simple? “Oh Yeah! An old Veteran gone Mike-India-Alpha has returned” lol 😆

I just cant seem to shake that old Military style upbringing my grandfather’s :shucks:

BTW: To you who dont understand army Jarga, the words “Mike India Alpha” spell out M.I.A, which stands for Missing In Action.

Thought you guys might needed a explination.

Atticusblackwolf on Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:52 pm

I remember you ^_^Nice to see you back. The layout is alot different….It surprised me too.

SailorPtah on Sat Mar 01, 2008 2:10 am

If I had had to make these comics with a trackpoint, I would probably have just given up ^_^;

Guest strips kick in next week, so you won’t have to sit through my terrible MSPaint artwork any longer! (And if you have one, it’s certainly not too late to send it.)

I actually have an external HD, on which my files are backed up. But I don’t have a computer to connect it to (I’m not carrying the HD back and forth to the library), and I don’t have my scanner software or Paint Shop Pro installed on any computer anywhere.

The problem isn’t that files were wiped. It’s that the operating system itself went down.

The new computer will have Windows XP, so no worries there. And it should be ready on Monday. (Fingers crossed.)

Atticusblackwolf on Sat Mar 01, 2008 8:00 am

OUCH

Elin-darling on Sat Mar 01, 2008 6:27 pm

lmao. So glad someone missed me, at least a little. I got knocked off my Hellsing..ness…for a bit, but now I miss my old friends here on Comicgen…
Tripe? you give yourself too much credit. XD

Tommygunner70 on Mon Mar 03, 2008 6:27 am

Let me guess… a .DLL file went missing, and you only found out durring the bootup as the Computer could not load windows with out it?

*cracks knuckles*
Aye Ma’am!
