I think that the metal knife that Integra has is just right to stab the baobhan sith in the heart.

by Arvanna on Fri Aug 17, 2007 4:03 pm

Hmmmm I always recall it being cold wrought iron that was a bane to fairies so a ordinary kitchen knife might not do it, but then knowing the Hellsings they may have not so mundanely fashioned cuttlery laying about for just such occasions?

by Tommygunner70 on Fri Aug 17, 2007 5:58 pm

knowing hellsing. you will never know :p

like first you have a pistol that fires .454 Casull rounds which are classed as rounds that you would put in sniper rifle’s

then they come with a pistol that fires 13MM rounds. thats even a bigger round that the IMI Desert Eagle use (watch ‘The Matrix’ its the Gun that the ‘Agents’ use) and even more powerfull the the heaviest Sniper rifle the american forces use, and they only use that weapon when laying down as the force will knock them on there back side no matter how they support them selfs.

then you have the Harkonen Cannon with its 30MM caliber. thats the same size rounds as the ‘GAU-8 Avenger’ Which is the seven rotating barrel cannon that is mounted on the nose of a A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft.

then on old butler that can slice you on half with just floss wire.

so yeah. if it comes to weapons or general intruments of destruction. you just never know with hellsing being the one to deploy it

by Elin-darling on Fri Aug 17, 2007 6:54 pm

while fandom likes to call it floss, technically, it is monofilament wire, which actually makes it into a whole other bag of chips…

by Reeku on Fri Aug 17, 2007 7:23 pm

I’ve seen some pretty awesome sculpture made out of monofilament wire before. ;o

With the close approximation between .50 inches and 13mm, it’s likely that K. Hirano intended the gun to be .50 caliber, but used the metric equivalent. Barrel length also plays a role in muzzle velocity, so military sniper rifles probably have more power. Given that those rifles are armor piercing and can hit targets a mile away, Alucard isn’t missing out on much. If his guns were any more powerful, they’d shoot through his targets, embedding the blessed sliver in the wall behind them, instead of inside them.

Altogether, it’s mostly a question of who gets to the Sith first. Could you pick a worst spot to spring out of a cake? Who’s worse off, Pip or the vampire?

by Tommygunner70 on Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:13 pm

yeah i guess your right. the sniper version is so powerfull that when the bullet even fly’s past your head with half a meter of clearance. it can still kill you cos the force of it will have the same effect as an assassin snapping your neck.

i sure am not going to chose. its just to close of a call :p

by Reeku on Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:28 pm

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that she’s definitely starting to look 18 or older with today’s strip. xD

by Amashi on Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:36 pm

Heh gunner. I dont think it’d be too hard to develop a steel bullet. nor an Iron one for that matter if true Iron would be needed. They just would have to figure out the grain count for the gunpowder so it wouldnt just blow the slug apart upon combustion. I know that there are specila guns that the military use that go through a rigourous weighing and development to ensure the optimum functionality and success in fireing. Each bullet is hand weighed, and the grains of powder that go into each casing is counted out bit by bit.

So just figure out the weight of each slug, and factor the blasting capability of the explosive pressure of the gun powder, and voila! You have a good sized slug that can be used for those denizines that conventional silver bullets dont touch. Which I might point out silver is a very soft metal, so they’d have to just TIP the bullet with the melted silver. In effect the most of the composition of the slug would be lead or a mercury incindeary tip with a liquid silver composition in it. Ah crud, I can’t remember what it’s called. My mind blanked. >_< I hate when that happens. Oh and as to the info that I got for the Bhaoban Sith. I googled it and popped to wikipedia for the information. I didn't know what she was exactly, I only speculated she was a Fae. If I dont know something. I find out, so I DO know. heh They also have a description on Pantheon.org. But it wasn't as in depth as Wiki.

In Marian’s favor, they don’t know she’s a vampire…yet. So until she reveals or announces it, they’ll probably treat her like a regular girl. You should also remember the powers a Sith tends to have.

by Amashi on Fri Aug 17, 2007 11:54 pm

Yeah but the Bhaoban sith are suppose to only have power over men….not women….but i guess that with a doujinshi artistic liscensing with such things.

I wonder if alucard can sense if a vampire is around. Cause if She’s a Fae she’d be a true supernatural creature and not just a FREAK. hmm…Cause if I remember in episode 2 of the anime Integra was asking what the difference was between the FREAKS and Alucard even though it’s a blow to his pride on being “genuine” And he showed her by telekenetically levitating the FREAK chip on her desk in the little petrie dish. Which would basically indicate that he has true supernatural powers, where as the FREAKS wouldnt seeing that they’re artificialy created.

So, since Sithiekins is Faerie. Wouldnt that make her truely supernatural…er…or preternatural, which is the term I like to use. (its in the book Dracula too. Van Hellsing uses it when describing the vampire, and it’s used alot in one of my favorite book series… The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series. Written by Laurell. K. Hammilton.)

but isn’t the only woman in the room (if the maid that helped bring in the cake left) Integra. not that she can’t take care of her self. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

by Tommygunner70 on Sat Aug 18, 2007 1:56 am

i said ‘balistics is my forte’ for a reason you know :p

the design part was ment for the metal needed its self. the rest of the bullet (shell casing, charge, primer.) and the acual crafting its self would be up to me. but i was just joking around ๐Ÿ˜‰

anyway about Marian and all:

Erin allready had do something conserning the matter, if Alucard was able to know who was human or not. (storyline from January 27th 2005 till April 15th 2005) not an official statement but in a sense; yes Alucard knew.

but then again i still wonder why Alucard did not rat Reseda right from the start.

for some reason i am seeing a behavior partern there. but i dont know if its founded or not.

its sort of like you wont try anything with me. and i wont try anything with you kind if thing you might say.

Alucard knew that Reseda was just posing as a normal cat. its not like its a big secret that Hellsing are vampire hunters. so it would be foolish to be there even if your posing as something els.

so thru that Alucard might not have mind Reseda being there. Untill Reseda almost licked the lips of integral. that was a threat to her life which crossed the line of her being there.

maybe now with Marian its the same thing. alucard is aware of her being as i see it. he just does not bother right now as she is not acting as a direct threat. but as i see it Marian would rather just have a good time and party then cause trouble.

now i dont know what the real thought about it all is. as 1. i am not the artist here. 2. i still have a small of problems grasping what is going on as i am dealing with a language and culture differance in my exsperiance.

but at least this is what i understand from it all. and its nice to see vampires that dont try to use you as a food source. but acualy just want to socialize and have fun. and not bothering that there differant from other people. ๐Ÿ™‚

As I understand it, the baobhan sith were known for seducing men, but there’s no lore about women being immune to them. And remember, this legend dates from a time when anything other than heterosexuality was not acknowledged, much less understood.

When the original baobhan sith appeared in the Hellsing TV anime, she hypnotized Integra as well as Walter. Even when Integra broke the mental spell, the baobhan sith immobilized her. Only the vampires in the house were unaffected.

So I figure a baobhan sith can hypnotize anyone she wants; most of them just tend to go after men. Not ours ๐Ÿ˜€

Exactly!

The same thing happened with the original baobhan sith. Alucard knew she was there, but he went off to fight Incognito, whom he thought was the bigger threat (and the more fun fight).

He was wrong, and Integra nearly died because of it, and you can bet Alucard felt incredibly guilty afterwards. Notice how he broods by her hospital bed through the entirety of the next episode. It’s very touching.

i figured as much. but i was not totally sure a few minutes ago…
thanks for clearing that up ๐Ÿ˜‰

by Urahara on Sat Aug 18, 2007 7:27 am

Red eyes. That’s a dead giveaway that she’s not human. :3

Of course, Integra and Walter will probably be the only ones in the room who would pay attention to the eyes.

Postby Tommygunner70 on Sat Aug 18, 2007 11:43 am

i got something to counter that.

what would stand out more?

1. some one who trys to hide something
or
2. some one that does not even try to hide the same thing?

from what i know when i had a deep cut in my hand. my girlfriend came walking in. knowing her she would start to worry if she saw the cut in my hand.

but instead of trying to hide it i just reacted in a normal manner. just as if that cut was never there.

she did not notice untill i told her about it at least. but that was after i hand taken care of the the wound there and then.

the truth be told that she did not notice. but i showed her the cut that i had allready taken care of. she was kind of suprised to see it.

she really did not have a cleu.

now if in the same situation and i tried to actively hide the fact that i had a cut in my hand. then she would have noticed coz i was not acting like my normal self.

so the samething can hold true for those red eyes. if you try to hide them. then they become apperant.

and i think that this fact is supported by the drawing where Marian pops out of the cake.

if Integral noticed it she would have grabbed her pistol rather then leaning back with a stupid and dumbstruck face while gasping for air at the suprize.

so if she did not notice right form the start. then i doubt it that she would anytime soon. and if one is going to find out, refering to Xuanwu’s quote

Alucard will only rat Her out when she becomes a threat. untill then he can take it easy while still keeping an eye out. but i dearly hope that Marian won’t become a threat. seeing more vampire’s like Seras and Alucard of sorts that dont try to feed of humans is a sight i just love to see more and more.

just like helena. she did not feed of every human she saw. i believe she also used medical blood so not to start any trouble.

that at least proves that some vampires are honarable and try to live there unlife in a fashion like a human would.
