Timothy: Hang on. How come you said “one of them“? Aren’t you…?

Anderson: Easy with the questions, son.

Heinkel: No, it’s okay.

I was part of the first generation of regenerators. A prototype. An imperfect trial run.

Wait… What? He’s a regenerator? Which part of Hellsing or the related prototype comics mentions THAT?

The same part that mentions Yumiko and Yumie having more personalities, and Timothy existing at all ^_~

He’s lucky the vatacan decided on a scientific approach. I bet there were a lot of tumor blobs that used to be rats in Rome’s labratories.

I just thought of something, and I apologize in advance if I touch a nerve here or there. Many intersexed individuals will get surgery at some point to try and at least hide the fact, assuming their parents didn’t have it done when they were still young. So, if Heinkel was a guinea pig for creating regenerators, just how young was shi when that went on? And has it impaired hir ability to get that kind of surgery, or did she just not want to?

Also, if Heinkel was a part of the first generation, uh, how old would that make hir?

Or, was the process responsible for creating her intersexuality? We’re not told when the process needs to be done. For all we know, you need to be a child for the full effects to grow into the person, and whether there are…developmental side effects.

This would explain why Heinkel survived the Captain’s attack on hir. Nice one, Erin.
This idea is reminding me of Deadpool in that both want a cure of some type, but ended up as lab rats for a secret organization.

Nope. Heinkel has 5-Alpha-reductase deficiency (5-ARD), which ze was born with.

(Well, in Shine canon, at least. Hellsing proper doesn’t give Heinkel any particular backstory.)

Well, can’t blame a guy for guessing, right?
